December 2015

On December 5, Sherry takes Fred to Best Buy in Sherman Oaks to ask the Best Buy Geeks about his computer. After, they go to Sherry's apartment for lunch and to watch Fred's ASIFA-Hollywood-sent DVD of the 2015 animated feature Minions.  On December 8, Sherry brings Fred to her apartment for dinner.  In the evening, they go to the ASIFA-Hollywood screening of the 2013 Brazilian animated film Boy & The World.  On December 10, the Furry Writers' Guild posts a lengthy "A Conversation With Fred Patten" interview by Phil Geusz, in honor of Fred's 75th birthday.  On December 11, Fred's 75th birthday, FurPlanet Productions puts his six FurPlanet books on sale at 75% of the regular price.  Also on December 11, Sherry takes Fred to the Autry Museum of the American West for his birthday.  They meet cousin Jon Patten, see the Autry Museum's "Empire and Liberty: The Civil War and the West" exhibit, and have lunch at the Museum's Crossroads West restaurant.  After, Sherry takes Fred to her apartment for candy and to watch the three Mini-Minions 4-minute movies: Cro Minion, Competition, and Binky Nelson: Unpacified.  They try to watch The Peanuts Movie but turn it off after a few minutes.  On December 15, Sherry takes Fred to her apartment for lunch.  After, they watch the 1945 movie It's In the Bag! on her TV.  The postman brings three review books for Fred.  

On December 19, Sherry takes Fred to the Home Town Buffet in Van Nuys for breakfast/early lunch.  After, they go to Sherry's apartment to watch the 1934 movie Kentucky Kernels and the Disney animated 1938 Polar Trappers on her TV.  On December 27, Sherry takes Fred to her apartment to watch an ASIFA-Hollywood screener of the 2015 American stop-motion animated feature Anomalisa for Annie Award voting consideration. Fred stops watching after about ten minutes; he doesn't like it.  After, Fred has lunch and watches the 1934 Disney Silly Symphony The Grasshopper and the Ants and the 1935 movie The Nitwits.  On December 31, Sherry takes Fred to her apartment for lunch and to watch the 2015 movie Ted 2.

November 2015

On November 2, Sherry takes Fred to neurosurgeon Dr. Sean Armin in Valley Village to see if he should have his spine straightened.  Dr. Armin advises against it, but says that Fred should sit up in his wheelchair for meals.  After, they go to Sherry's apartment for lunch.  On November 5, Sherry takes Fred to her apartment for lunch and to see the Disneyland TV episode "The Plausible Impossible" on TV.  On November 10, Sherry takes Fred to the mini-mall at Sepulveda & Roscoe to dentist Dr.Yvonne Arafiles to have his teeth cleaned, to Maritza's Hair Salon to get his hair cut, and to the Yoshinoya restaurant for lunch.  On November 11, Sherry takes Fred to her apartment for a meeting with Fernando from the Geek Squad for instructions on how to back up Fred's computer.  After, Fred has lunch and watches the Disney 1937 Lonesome Ghosts on Sherry's television.  On November 13, Sherry takes Fred to an appointment with Dr. Mark Lensky, the electrocardiologist, in Van Nuys.  He says that Fred is generally fine, but he does prescribe about a week's worthy of antibiotics to clear up a chest wheezing.  On November 16, Fred is notified that his review of The Dog Who Spoke With Gods has been accepted for A Glimpse of Anthropomorphic Literature, issue #1.  On November 17, Sherry takes Fred to an appointment with Dr. Ramesh Arora, the cardiologist in Van Nuys.  He says that Fred is fine, and that Dr. Lensky will be able to prescribe for both of them in the future.  After, Fred goes to Sherry's apartment for lunce and to watch the German 1920 feature The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari on her television.  

On November 19, Sherry takes Fred to the UCR's Rivera Library to meet with Eric Milenkiewicz and Jacqueline "JJ" Jacobson, who is taking over from Dr. Melissa Conway.  Fred makes two boxes of new donations, and does some research in the Eaton Collection.  On November 22, Sherry takes Fred to her apartment for lunch and to watch two Wheeler & Woolsey movies on her television, the 1930 Half Shot at Sunrise and the 1931 Cracked Nuts .  On November 28, Sherry takes Fred to the LAX Marriott Hotel for Loscon 42.  They have lunch in the hotel's Latitude 33 Restaurant with Michael Burlake, Roz Gibson, and JJ Jacobson, shop in the Dealers' Room, and attend Lee & Barry Gold's Filk Singing.  On November 30, Sherry and Fred pick up Phil Muchnik in Montrose, and they go to the Pacific Theatre at the Americana at Brand in Glendale to see the American 2015 animated movie The Good Dinosaur.  After, they go to lunch at the Outback Steakhouse.

October 2015

On October 2, Fred gets a six-month royalty cheque from Stone Bridge Press for $32.45 for 17 e-book copies of his 2004 Watching Anime, Reading Manga sold during the first half of 2015.  On October 4, Fred receives his contributor's copy of ROAR volume 6, containing his short story "Clearance Papers".  On October 5, Fred is sent to Mission Community Hospital for treatment for chest congestion plus some medical tests, until the 9th.  On October 15, Sherry brings Fred to her apartment for dinner.  In the evening, they go to the DreamWorks Animation studio in Glendale to see the ASIFA-Hollywood screening of the 17th Animation Show of Shows.  After, Fred reviews it for Animation Scoop.  On October 19, Sherry and Fred pick up Phil Muchnik in Montrose, and they go to the Pacific Theatre at the Americana at Brand in Glendale to see the 2015 American animated feature Hotel Transylvania 2.  After, they go to lunch at the Outback Steakhouse at the Glendale Marketplace; then to the Spirit Costume Superstore across the mall that is decorated as a Halloween center, where Sherry finds some Minions merchandise.  On October 24, Sherry and Fred take Fred's computer to Best Buy in Sherman Oaks for servicing.  After, they go to the Four 'n 20 restaurant in Sherman Oaks for lunch, then to Sherry's apartment for a nap.  On October 29, Sherry takes Fred to her apartment for lunch and to watch some more Private Snafu and 1930s Disney cartoons on TV, and to Best Buy for some more computer advice.

September 2015

On September 2, Sherry takes Fred to her apartment for lunch, and to watch three World War II Private Snafu cartoons and three episodes of the 2014 Japanese animated TV series Space Dandy on her TV.  On September 5, Sherry takes Fred to the Outback Steakhouse in Newhall to have dinner with Roz Gibson & Dwight Dutton.  Roz gives Fred a bande dessinée from Lex Nakashima, Ocelot.  On September 7, Sherry takes Fred to the Burbank AMC 16 theater at the Burbank Center to see the 2015 Mexican animated feature Un Gallo Con Muchos Huevos.  After, they go to Flavor of India for lunch.  On September 10, Sherry takes Fred to a LASFS meeting, where he borrows several books from the LASFS Library, donates a copy of his The Furry Future to the LASFS Library, and votes in the annual election for the 2015 Forry Award honoree.  On September 16, Fred gets his twenty contributor's copies of An Anthropomorphic Century from FurPlanet.  On September 18, Fred gets a bad cold that prevents him from leaving his convalescent hospital for almost the rest of the month.  On September 30, Sherry takes Fred to her apartment for lunch, to watch more Private Snafu cartoons, and to work on his books.

August 2015

On August 3, Sherry takes Fred to the mini-mall at Sepulveda & Roscoe to dentist Dr. Yvonne Arafiles to get his teeth cleaned, to Maritza's Hair Salon to get his hair cut, and to the Yoshinoya restaurant for lunch.  In the afternoon, Fred submits a new story, "A Legend In His Own Time", to ROAR volume 7.  On August 7, Sherry takes Fred to an appointment with Dr. Mark Lensky, the electrocardiologist, in Van Nuys.  He says that Fred is fine.  After, they go to lunch at Sherry's apartment, and Fred takes a nap.  On August 8, the ALAA updates the 2015 Anthropomorphics Recommended Reading List, and Fred sends out a press release about it.  On August 9, Sherry brings Fred to the Pacific Theatre at the Americana at Brand in Glendale to see the 2015 American live-action Ant-Man.  After, they drive to the Outback restaurant in Burbank for lunch.  On August 14, Sherry brings Fred to the Arclight Theatre at Paseo Colorado in Pasadena to see the 2015 British animated feature Shaun the Sheep the Movie.  After, they go to P. F. Chang's for lunch.  On the return to Fred's hospital, they stop at the San Fernando Library to get Fred a book.  On August 17, Sherry and Fred pick up Phil Muchnik in Montrose and go to the Pacific Theatre at the Americana at Brand in Glendale to see the 2015 live-action feature The Man from U.N.C.L.E..  After, they go to lunch at the Outback restaurant.  On August 26, Sherry takes Fred to her apartment to watch the 1956 American live-action feature Around the World in 80 Days on her TV, with a lunch break in the middle.  On August 29, Sherry takes Fred to an early lunch at Home Town Buffet in Van Nuys; then to her apartment to watch the 2015 Canadian animated feature Pixies on On Demand TV, then the Disney Junior Sheriff Callie's Wild West episode "The Pesky Kangaroo Rat".  On August 30, Fred is notified by FurPlanet Productions that not only is his next anthology, An Anthropomorphic Century, back in production for a late September publication, but he is authorized to produce two more anthologies for 2016 publication, Cats and More Cats and Gods With Fur.

July 2015

On July 3, Sherry takes Fred to the Coral Sands Motel in Los Angeles to pick up Renato Rivera Rusca, an Assistant Professor at Meiji University in Tokyo, his wife, and Professor Yukari Fujimoto, the head of his research group at Meiji University, who are visiting L.A. from Tokyo to speak at Anime Expo and want to interview Fred while they are in Los Angeles.  They go to Sherry's apartment, where they have a long interview with Fred about the origins of anime fandom in America.  After, Sherry takes the Riveras and Prof. Fujimoto to Universal City, and she and Fred return to her apartment for lunch and to watch a DVD of the first two episodes of the 2014 Japanese animated TV series Space Dandy.  On July 5, Fred gets most of the proofreading from FurPlanet Productions for his new anthology An Anthropomorphic Century, to be published later that week. On July 6, Fred gets a notification from Jonathan Thurston that his book Furries Among Us, with an article by Fred, is published and for sale on Amazon.com.  On July 7, Fred gets the proof of the cover of An Anthropomorphic Century from FurPlanet, corrects the last misspelling, and authorizes its publication to go on sale in two days at Anthrocon.  Later that day, Sherry takes him to her apartment for dinner.  In the evening they go to an ASIFA-Hollywood preview screening of Nickelodeon's new Pig Goat Banana Cricket TV series at the Nickelodeon Animation Studios screening room in Burbank.  Fred writes an article about it.  On July 10, Sherry brings Fred to her apartment for lunch and to watch StudioCanal's 2014 British feature Paddington  on On Demand TV.  On July 13, Sherry and Fred go to Montrose to pick up Phil Muchnik, then the three go to the Arclight Theatre in Pasadena's Paseo Colorado to see Illumination's 2015 animation feature Minions.  After, they go to lunch at P. F. Chang's China Bistro in the Paseo. On July 16, Gina Ruiz's AmoXcalli book review, which was reactivated in April, publishes Fred's first review since last September.  Sherry takes Fred to an appointment with opthamologist Dr. Sanjay Logani in Reseda.  He says that Fred doesn't need any new eyeglasses.  After, Sherry and Fred go to lunch at the Claim Jumper restaurant at the Northridge Fashion Center.  On July 18, Sherry brings Fred to her apartment for lunch and to look through some of his books.

On July 20, Bernard Doove stops at Fred's hospital to visit with him on his way to LAX to return to Australia after Anthrocon.  He & Fred, and Jim & Carol Alves, Roy Pounds, II, and Sherry Patten have a nice conversation in the hospital's library for over an hour. Sherry takes a group photograph to add to Fred's photo gallery.  On July 21, Sherry brings Fred to her apartment for dinner.  In the evening they go to an ASIFA-Hollywood screening at the DreamWorks Animation screening room in Glendale of the 2015 French/Quebeçois animated feature Mune.  On July 23, Sherry is about to take Fred to a dentist's appointment when they get a phone call at Fred's hospital canceling the appointment.  Sherry takes Fred instead to her apartment for lunch and to watch Space Dandy, episodes #3 and #4, and the 1953 Disney cartoon The Simple Things.  On July 26, Animation Scoop publishes Fred's A Look at Pig Goat Banana Cricket.  On July 28, Sherry brings Fred to her apartment for dinner and to watch Disney's 1937 Hawaiian Holiday and 1939 Beach Picnic on her TV.  In the evening, they go to the ASIFA-Hollywood screening of the 2015 American animated feature Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet at the Laemmle Noho 7 theater in North Hollywood.  On July 31, Lex Nakashima brings Fred about a dozen French bandes dessinées.  In the afternoon, Sherry brings Fred to her apartment for dinner.  In the evening they go to an ASIFA-Hollywood screening of the 2014 German animated feature The 7th Dwarf at the Laemmle Town Center 5 theater in Encino.

June 2015

On June 1, Sherry and Fred pick up Phil Muchnik in Montrose, and they go to the Pacific Theatre in Glendale to watch the 2015 Disney feature Tomorrowland.  Phil takes pictures of Sherry with life-sized Minions at a display for the upcoming Minions movie.  After, they go to lunch at the DISH restaurant in La Cañada.  On June 4, Sherry brings Fred to her apartment for dinner.  In the evening, they go to the Dreamworks Animation studio in Glendale for an ASIFA-Hollywood presentation of DreamWorks' new Netflix animation series, DinoTrux and Dragons: Race to the Edge.  On June 6, Sherry takes Fred to CaliFur.11 in Irvine.  They go to lunch with Dr. Melissa Conway at the hotel's FLOE Lounge, which is so bad (food both cold and burnt) that Sherry complains to the waiter.  Fred speaks on a panel, "History of Anime Fandom in America", with Mark Merlino, and Sherry buys Fred a book in the Dealers' Den.  In the evening, they return to Sherry's apartment for dinner rather than eating at FLOE again.  On June l5, Sherry and Fred pick up Phil Muchnik in Montrose and they go to the Pacific Theatre in Glendale to see the 2015 feature Jurassic World.  After, they walk to lunch at The Outback.  On June 19, Sherry takes Fred to an appointment with cardiologist Dr. Ana Shahnematollahi in Van Nuys.  She pronounces Fred okay.  After, they go to Sherry's apartment for lunch, and to watch the DVD of the 2000 Argentinian animated feature Los Pintín al Rescate.  On June 22, Sherry takes Fred to the AMC 16 Theater at the Burbank Center to see the 2015 animated feature Inside Out.  After, they go to lunch at the Center's Fuddrucker's.  On June 26, Sherry and their cousin Jon Patten meet at Fred's convalescent hospital, and all three go in Sherry's minivan to Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale to see the "Revolutions 2 - The Art of Music" exhibition of rock/underground music original l.p. album cover art.  Sherry buys Fred a book, Strips, Toons, and Bluesies; Essays in Comics and Culture by D. B. Dowd & Todd Hignite.  She also visits the ashes of one of their relatives from New Orleans.  After, they go to lunch at the Outback Steakhouse at the Burbank Empire Center.  On June 29, Fred gets proofreading and the cover by Mark Brill for his new book, An Anthropomorphic Century, from FurPlanet Productions.  Sherry takes him to her apartment for lunch and to read his book from Forest Lawn.  Fred get an e-mail from his editor at McFarland inviting him to write a second book.  On June 30, the Furry Writers' Guild transfers Fred from its Associate Members to its regular Members, based upon his story in ROAR volume 6.

May 2015

On May 2, Sherry brings Fred to her apartment for lunch and to watch some baby animals on TV.  In the afternoon, they go to Blastoff Comics' Free Comic Book Day celebrations at the Blastoff Comicsfest street fair in North Hollywood ("food•music•beer garden").  They meet Alan Brennert, who used to work after school in Fred's & Richard Kyle's Graphic Story Bookshop in Long Beach in the 1970s, and has been watching over Richard since his recent stroke.  Later, Sherry & Fred stop at a Baskin Robbins on their way back to Fred's hospital.  On May 4, Sherry brings Fred to a medical appointment with Dr. Mark Lensky, the electrocardiologist in Van Nuys.  He says that Fred's health is good, allowing for Fred having a bad cold.  After, they go to Sherry's apartment for lunch, to read the free comic books from Free Comic Book Day, and to watch the 2015 French animated feature Yellowbird on On Demand TV.  On May 9, Sherry brings Fred to her apartment for lunch, and to watch the 2009 feature Paul Blart: Mall Cop on her TV.  On May 10, Fred sends all his editing for An Anthropomorphic Century to Teiran.  On May 11, Sherry and Fred pick up Phil Muchnik in Montrose and the go to the Pacific Theatre in Glendale to see the 2015 feature Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2.  After, they go to lunch at DISH in La Cañada.  On May 13, Sherry takes Fred to the AMC 16 Theater at the Burbank Center to see the 2015 s-f feature Ex Machina.  After, they go to lunch at Flavor of India.  On May 15, Sherry takes Fred to her apartment for lunch and a nap,  On May 19, Sherry brings Fred to her apartment for lunch, and to go through some old records.  After, she takes him to Maritza's Hair Salon in the mini-mall at Sepulveda and Roscoe to get a hair cut.  While there, she buys a Beef Bowl to go, to take back to Fred's hospital for his dinner.  On May 21, Sherry and Fred go to the UCRiverside Library.  Fred sorts buttons from his collection, and gets scans of Streamline Pictures Video Comics VHS sleeves to illustrate his Funny Animals and More columns.  On May 25, Sherry brings Fred to her apartment for lunch, to work on a review, and to watch the British 2014 animated feature Postman Pat: The Movie on On Demand TV.  On May 28, Sherry brings Fred to her apartment for lunch.  In the afternoon, she and Fred go to the Center Stage Gallery in Burbank to see the exhibit of "The Fearless Art of Mike Gabriel", Disney artist and animator.  On May 30, Fred receives a contract from McFarland and Company to prepare a book on the history of furry fandom conventions.

April 2015

On April 2, Sherry takes Fred to her apartment for lunch and to watch the 1936 movie The Case of the Velvet Claws on her TV.  After, they go to the San Fernando Library to get Fred a book and a haircut at the barber next door, but the barber is out of business.  On April 4, Sherry takes Fred to WonderCon at the Anaheim Convention Center.  They have lunch at the Anaheim Hilton Hotel.  In the evening, they return to Sherry's apartment for dinner.  On April 7, Fred is notified by editor Mary E. Lowd that his short story "Clearance Papers" has been accepted for the ROAR volume 6 anthology.  Later, Sherry takes him to the AMC 16 Theater at the Burbank Center to see the new movie Furious 7.  Afterwards, they go to lunch at Fuddrucker's.  They return to Fred's hospital just as it starts to rain.  On April 9, Fred gets a royalty cheque from Stone Bridge Press for $30.17 for 13 electronic copies sold of his Watching Anime, Reading Manga during the last half of 2014.  On April 10, Sherry takes Fred to Maritza's Hair Salon in the mini-mall at Sepulveda & Roscoe to get a hair cut (to get all of his hair cut off), and then to a lunch with their cousin Jon Patten at Big Jim's Restaurant & Bar in Sun Valley.  On April 12, Sherry brings Fred to her apartment for a good lunch and a long nap, in anticipation of not being able to take him out of the hospital for more than a week due to getting repairs on her minivan.  On April 23, Sherry takes Fred to the Huntington Library in San Marino to see the "Samuel F. B. Morse's 'Gallery of the Louvre' and the Art of Invention" exhibit.  They have lunch in the Library's new Café, and see the outside of the Library's wheelchair-unfriendly Desert Garden which Fred wanted to see.  On April 25, Sherry takes Fred to the Home Town Buffet in Van Nuys for lunch, and to her apartment to get two new books and to look at his latest election flyers.

March 2015

On March 3, Sherry takes Fred to Dr. Yvonne Arafiles, the dentist at the mini-mall at Sepulveda & Roscoe, to get his teeth cleaned. After, they go to lunch at the mini-mall's Yoshinoya restaurant, and then to Sherry's apartment for dessert and to look through their mother's old files, which has Fred's report cards back to the First Grade in 1947.  On March 7, Sherry takes Fred to lunch at the Home Town Buffet in Van Nuys, and then to her apartment to sort through more old files.  Fred watches a TCM broadcast of Ken Murray's 1965 TV special Hollywood My Home Town.  On March 10, Sherry takes Fred to her apartment for lunch, to sort through more old files, and to watch a DVD of the South African animated feature Khumba.  On March 12, Sherry takes Fred to her apartment for lunch and to sort through more old files.  On March 17, Sherry takes Fred to her apartment for lunch, and to watch the 1944 animated Disney feature The Three Caballeros on her TV.  On March 20, Sherry takes Fred to an appointment with cardiologist Dr. Ana Shahnematollahi in Van Nuys.  After, they go to Sherry's apartment for lunch, and to watch the first half of the 2008 documentary Walt & El Grupo on Sherry's TV.  Later, Fred gets an e-mail from Eric Shanower asking him for information about the Winkie Conventions of Oz fandom, for a Winkie Convention Memory Book.  Fred attended and wrote long Winkie Convention reports from 1964 through 1970.  On March 22, Warren "Whiskey" Johnson, the LASFS Librarian, visits Fred to bring him six books from the LASFS library.  On March 23, Sherry takes Fred to the UCRiverside Library for research in his collection, for his weekly animation columns and for the Winkie Convention Memory Book.   Fred transcribes and sends his Winkie Convention reports to Eric Shanower.  On March 25, Sherry takes Fred to the AMC 16 theater at the Burbank Center to see Disney's live-action Cinderella.  After, they go to lunch at Fuddrucker's.  On March 28, Sherry takes Fred to her apartment for lunch, and to watch the conclusion of Walt & El Grupo, and the 2013 French animated feature Wolfy, the Incredible Secret on On Demand TV.  On March 30, Sherry and Fred pick up Phil Muchnik in Montrose, and go to the Pacific Theatre in Glendale to see DreamWorks Animation's Home.  After, they go to lunch at Frida: Mexican Cuisine.

February 2015

On February 2, Sherry takes Fred to see Richard Kyle, his friend and former partner in Graphic Story Bookshop/Wonderworld Books during 1972-1975, at the Windsor Convalescent Center in Long Beach, where Kyle has been following a serious stroke.  Unfortunately, Kyle is asleep all during their visit.  They return to Sherry's apartment for lunch and Fred's afternoon nap.  On February 5, Sherry takes Fred first to the North Hollywood branch of the Los Angeles Public Library to get him two reserved books, then to the Burbank Center to browse at its Barnes & Noble, then to lunch at its Fuddruckers, and to the Center's Ben & Jerry's for an ice cream dessert, and in the afternoon to the AMC Theater 16 to see the animated feature Strange Magic.  On February 9, Sherry takes Fred to the AMC 16 Theater at the Burbank Center where they see SpongeBob SquarePants: Sponge Out of Water.  After, they go to lunch at Fuddruckers.  On February 11, Sherry brings Fred to her apartment for dinner.  On February 13, Sherry takes Fred to Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys for an electrocardiogram.  After, they go to lunch at Solley's Deli.  On February 16, Sherry takes Fred to the AMC Theater 16 to see Jupiter Ascending .  After, they go to lunch at the Flavor of India restaurant.  On February 19, Sherry brings Fred to her apartment to watch the TCM TV screening of the restored almost-2 1/2 hour version of the 1927 German Metropolis, with a lunch break in the middle.  On February 23, Sherry takes Fred and his computer to Best Buy in Sherman Oaks to have some maintenance done on his computer.  Fred uses his old computer in the meantime.  After, they go to lunch at Solley's Deli.  On February 26, Sherry takes Fred to Best Buy to pick up his computer.  After, they go to her apartment for lunch.  On February 28, Sherry takes Fred to her apartment for lunch, to watch on her TV the 1935 movie Charlie Chan in Egypt, and to work on his next anthology, An Anthropomorphic Century.

January 2015

On January 3, Sherry gets her minivan back from the body shop, and takes Fred to her apartment to look at his Christmas cards, followed by a belated Christmas/New Year's Day dinner at Solley's Deli in Sherman Oaks. On January 5, Sherry and Fred pick up Phil Muchnik in Montrose, and they go to the ArcLight Cinema in Pasadena to see Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb. After, they go to lunch at P. F. Chang's. On January 10, Sherry and Fred go to the Anime L.A. convention at the LAX Marriott hotel. They have their caricatures drawn as Minions by a fast-sketch artist, Kris Kehasukjaren. They have lunch at Champions, the hotel's sports bar. Later they go to Sherry's apartment for dinner. On January 15, Sherry takes Fred to an appointment with ophthalmologist Dr. Sanjay Logani in Reseda, who says that Fred's eyes are still fine. After, they go to lunch at the Home Town Buffet in Van Nuys. On January 16, Sherry takes Fred to another appointment with Dr. Ana Shahnematollahi, who advises Fred to reduce his blood sugar. After, they go to Sherry's apartment for lunch and to watch the 2014 Malaysian animated feature Ribbit on On Demand television. From January 17 to 20, Fred is sent to Mission Community Hospital in Panorama City for an excessively high blood sugar count. On January 23, Sherry takes Fred to a morning appointment with electrocardiologist Dr. Mark Lensky in Van Nuys, who says that Fred is "healthy enough". They next go to lunch at Solley's Deli in Sherman Oaks, then to Sherry's apartment for dessert and a nap. In the afternoon, they go to San Fernando to get Fred a book at the San Fernando Library, and a haircut at the next-door The Mission Barber Shop. On January 29, Sherry takes Fred for a day in Riverside. First they meet Dr. Melissa Conway for the first time since her retirement, for lunch at Gandhi Indian Cuisine. Then they go to the Rivera Library on the UCR campus, to do some research and to make some new donations to Fred's collection at the Eaton Collection of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Literature, temporarily supervised by Eric Milenkiewicz. Later, they go back to Sherry's apartment for dinner. Fred gets his first author's copies of his latest book, The Furry Future, from FurPlanet Productions. On January 31, Roz Gibson and her husband, Dwight Dutton, come to visit Fred at his hospital. Roz gives Fred his & Sherry's copy of her Griffin Ranger, volume 1, for which they contributed to her Kickstarter campaign to publish.
